Exec summary

NOTE: As we have started taking beam it is CRITICAL that no one
modifies/tests/perturbs any production system (DAQ, BCM, Raster signals,
detector, trigger control files, prescales, etc...) without consulting
experts and always making a halog entry.

Please leave all Counting House shift computers in a clean state for
the next shift crew (No non-mission-critical web browsers, PDF files,
terminal windows cluttering screens, etc.)

Target cool down took longer than hoped, but it is cold. Unfortunately both
Loop 2 and Loop 3 leak. At the moment the pumps can keep up, so we're OK for
now. Loop 2 has the worst leak and has been disabled. Loop 3 is the active
LH2 target.

The scattering chamber pressure is now good, and appears stable.

We have the go-ahead to run as high ~50 uA on Loop 3 at will.

We didn't get much beam last night (Tues OWL), and what we had was consumed
by Accelerator steer-up and Ion chamber calibration work. At 5:38 there was
a fire alarm in the east arc and took the Accelerator offline.

The alarm was not false. A power lead on one of the 3rd pass, east arc
dipoles overheated badly (Arc 5A). MCC completed damage assessment and
inspections of other magnets this afternoon.

We will be returning to 1-pass ASAP

Hall A just came out of Controlled Access (MCC is now ready to restart
delivery at 3pm)

Target group addressed their punchlist. We're in good shape with Loop 3.

Survey completed measurement of the LHRS at 16.5 degrees

Wire target fiducials deferred to another day (no access while target
group working in that area)

Moller group completed their work on the exterior of the Moller target
motion system. See https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3377438

Beamline vacuum was not touched. That work will be deferred to the
next opportunistic down

We will return to 1-Pass Tuesday SWING and execute the following:

Complete the target/beam alignment study

Do a BPM calibration/Bull's Eye scan

Begin the 1-pass optics studies for DVCS and GMp

Best estimate of plans (talked to PD at 3:15pm)

Accelerator will start repair work during DAY shifts starting tomorrow.
If things go well, they are hoping to be fully repaired by end of day
shift Friday(!)

So, no beam during DAY shifts Wed, Thursday. Beam will restore to Hall A
in SWING and run SWING and OWL.

Hall A will complete the 1-pass program described above and move to
2-pass at first opportunity (Friday at the latest)

Note that with 3+ pass disabled, Hall A is the only Hall in operation
for the rest of this week.

Weekend running will proceed as previously planned:

Hall A should be at 2-pass by that point and will remain there

Hall B take 1-pass and have priority

Hall Punchlist

Everyone needs to read and sign the COO/ESAD/RSAD in the Counting House

See also https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3375013

Need to decide what to do about DAY shift staffing this week

TO is still mandatory!

CODA EPICS logging still has a few missing/dead variables(?) [Alex, et al]

[new] also epicsLogger problems (Right and left DAQs calling same logging
script and stepping on each other)? [Alex, Longwu]

Analyze BCM calibration data and get it posted

See also https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3377095

Update software coefficients as needed

Analysis of new BCM receiver data? [Barak?]

Any update on D1 drift in Unser?

Clarify LHRS momentum limits

In Amperes: LQ1 is 'comfortable' at 1600A, 'probably fine' at 1800A,
and Jack is getting very uncomfortable above that.

Establish what the above currents map to in terms of GeV/c with standard
optics.

The rest of the magnets are good up to 4 GeV/c

Clarify RHRS momentum limits

Arc energy scan at 2 pass (4.48 GeV/c)

Doug will attach orbit information as a comment to
https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3376077 [needs to be done]

Harp scanners look generally OK, one question mark remaining

1C17 maybe fixed (status unclear, experts busy with Accel fire issues
today), should run it tonight to check

1H00 is fixed

Position, Energy, Current locks (and FFB) still being worked by MCC [MCC, Brad]

Beam position studies

We have been unable to steer through the 1cm ID "Raster Target" hole

We have not been able to image the Carbon Hole target.

We will revisit this at first beam this afternoon.

Old (1 MHz) D1 BCM seems to drift, not clear if this is a serious problem or
if the drift is just below the region of relevance for that (high-current)
readback. [Kijun, Mack, et al]

Target computer sound needs fixing (Target ALH needs to be audible)

Arc energy scan at 1-pass?

Doug off-site for the week. Buddhini?

Doug will put in request to get the Ultrastab current meter into EPICS
archiver (will give us a precision history of the current in the arc
dipoles).

Doug suggest measuring/logging the current in the dipole string with
Ultrastab. The field is extremely linear at these energies, so BdL
measured at 2-pass can be scaled with good accuracy. [Needs to be looked
at. Buddhini, Doug?]

Arc scanner needs to be greased/oiled [Doug]

motion does work though, just makes a bad noise...

Arc Scanner Harp controls [new screen] does not work

An updated Hall A BCM average current screen that uses the new BCM readouts
has been requested, OPS/SW working on it [Brad, Kjeldsen, Alex]

RHRS dipole showing some puzzling readbacks

It's OK at 0.75 GeV, but we should not change momentum without talking to Jack

Significant issue with Moller target [Sasha, Roman]

target position/angle shifts when magnet ramped up, can not maintain alignment

segment of upstream beamline will be opened on Tuesday during Beam Studies
to implement (temporary) fix

Completed Punchlist Items (new)

LeCroy HV controls [working]

Hall A general ALH [working]

DVCS HV issue was due to a cut network cable (looked like someone may have
tripped on it and the cable snagged and tore) [Fixed]

LHRS L1-Accept scaler double counting solved: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3377026

VDC gas flow fluctuations on feedbacks are within expectations

Raster problems fixed

BPM strangeness investigated, best guess is MCC steering procedure not quite
right. This has been clarified by Yves and passed on to Crew Chiefs to be
implemented from now on.

HRS Magnet issues solved (mostly)! [Segal]

See https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3375822

Left Q1 has limit of 1800A, but stay below 1600A for time being

We need to ensure shift crew have appropriate instructions on how to set
the LHRS momentum correctly for high momenta, given this limitation.

Right Q1 is working: 800 A software limit

RHRS should stay at 0.75GeV for now

BCM readouts are reported to be working [Alex, Musson, Mack, Ciprian]
