<html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html charset=us-ascii"></head><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space;" class="">Greetings fellow collaborators,<div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">The status at the 7:45 meeting is that there was a setback yesterday evening with the 5.5 pass tuning effort. They had to back out from 9R to 2R and essentially start over. They've made some progress since then but still don't have a good tune. </div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">So their plan is to try to get whatever 5.5 pass tune they can get asap this morning in order to go ahead with the RF separation this afternoon. It's likely to be a ratty tune with lots of halo, but they have the people here to do the RF separation and so they want to capitalize on that and get that done today.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Then on swing tonight and owl they would return to the task of cleaning up the 5.5 pass tune. We are still staffing the counting room with a TO, with shift leader and 3rd on standby until Friday day when they hope to provide beam per the schedule on the white board. They say there is a chance we could get good beam tonight, so stay tuned, we may come out of standby for swing and owl depending on what news there is at 4PM.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">HOWEVER: they stressed the importance of us staying out of the hall today. They are that busy- they said they can't handle the additional burden of dealing with controlled accesses unless it's an emergency. SO please do not ask MCC for access to the hall today. Please contact me (your RC, 876-1787) prior to making an access so we can decide together if it can be punted. Thanks. I've also asked the crew shift to forward any access requests that may occur to me.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Greg</div><div class=""><br class=""><div class="">
