Since yesterday SWING we have been taking production data on the polarized helium-3 target. Overall, things have been proceeding fairly smoothly.
Notable events include:
We flipped the IHWP yesterday during SWING, and anticipate doing this once per day moving forward.
Don has looked at the charges asymmetry since the flip and the charge asymmetry appears small: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4068672
There is ongoing work with the target laser. During SWING and OWL shifts, Todd and Jack worked to optimize the lasers, noting that 2 of the lasers were not fully optimized:
Todd's summary of their work yesterday: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4068255
The laser computer (polhe1) had a required Microsoft update and reboot that would happen at 12:39 pm today. We worked with systems exports to try and stop this due the uncertainty in the time for the update (and lasers being turned off) but there was not a clear way to mitigate this without rebooting it. Jack and Hunter rebooted the computer and recovered in under a minute. I was working with experts to see about getting it into a system such that these updates wouldn't occur during the experiment. Just for completeness, I guess we should check polhe4 station as well to make sure something like this won't happen to it as well
https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4068646
Keith Cole and Dave Mack noted that the BCM / Unser should be retuned since the vacuum issues over the weekend. There is a possibility of an RF recovery on Thursday so this may be an opportune time to address this,

Let's meet today at 3:00 pm to go over the recent and future activities. I would like to see also if anyone would like to give any subsystem updates or perhaps an update on the what fraction of the total charge has been collected for this kinematic.

Best Regards,
Mike Nycz, Hall A RC
