Dear all,

I have two topic to ask for the solutions.

1. Working with multiple users on one CODA

Since the multiple CODAs become one, but we still work on individual
detectors, I want to get the people who need to control CODAs for their
components come to the solution:

who, when and how to control CODAs?

This must be set clear. Or else, we will run to the same problem as the
following problem.

I do not agree to run it on SRCDAQ computer. see reason below.

2. Working with multiple users on SRCDAQ computer

This has been an issue for so many times. Let make it official and play by
the rule. Here are my two options.

2.1 No vncviewer. No attempt to control remotely. You have to be in the
front of the computer to use it. The person who is in front of the computer
get all priority.

This would means, we have to set the time periods of working since HAND and
BigBite also need to use SRCDAQ to fix any problems. And RESPECT the time of
the others.

I still agree to work after 4 pm. This is said, I won't try/ attempt to use
the SRCDAQ computer before 4 pm. But the same apply to you. I will have all
the right to use it after 4 pm. If you need more time, start earlier (for
those with first time slot) or stay late (for those who work later period).

OR

2.2. Continue with the vncviewer . Any attempt to control must start with
"WALL" the message. Another party in front of the computer must ask why the
other attempt to use it. Then two can come to an agreement.

OR

2.3 "your solutions"

It has been incidents that many attempted to control the computers. I have
played by compromising rule, option 2.2. Being told to use option 2.2 then
got yield at for not follow option 2.1, I am really confused, upset and
tried.
It can only work one way.

Let make it clear and official.

Sincerely,

Tai
