[Hallb-engineering] DOE Independent Project Review ("Lehman review")

Dear Colleagues,

Jefferson Lab has just completed another DOE review (Lehman Independent 
Project Review 2009) of the 12 GeV Upgrade project. Hall B was 
represented by Latifa Elouadrhriri and Dave Kashy who presented the 
progress made on the CLAS12 effort during the past year. Also present 
were Hall B staff representing the CLAS12 detector systems, Michael 
Merkin, head of the Silicon Lab at Moscow State University, and Bill 
Schneider, engineering consultant for the CLAS12 superconducting Torus 
and Solenoid magnets. Both presentations were extremely well prepared 
and presented. The presence of the energetic Hall B staff and of the 
invited guests was very important in giving the review committee insight 
into the professionalism with which the CLAS12 effort is carried out.

  The result of the review was very positive for Hall B, resulting in no 
recommendation.

I would like to thank and congratulate the entire Hall B team and the 
CLAS collaboration for a superb job in preparing and executing this 
important review.
