Hi,

I wanted to pass this along in case anyone has a use for this supply.
The price is right... I note that Alpha is the same company that made
the 2 MW supply we're using for Qweak. I would be happy to liaise
further with Andy- I worked at TRIUMF for many years.

hi Greg,

We are about to scrap a rather unique 150kW power supply,
and I thought I should check if someone at JLab would
consider it worth his shipping cost to bring it to JLab
for some future use.  It is 10kA, 15V, so I guess it
was for a superconducting magnet.  It was never used
extensively for operation, only for development work
(for KAON?!).  In 1989, it cost $80k, made by
Alpha Scientific.  I don't have any specs.  No nameplate.
Images are attached.  Weight might be 1-2 tons.
One catch is that it was probably designed for 460VAC
(3-phase), whereas I understand that you guys probably
use 480VAC.  If there is any interest there, one might
be able to ask Alpha to check their archives to see
if it would be compatible.  Our PO was TR60417: 1989-03-31.

So could you please forward this to the appropriate people
there?
