Subject: 12 GeV Upgrade and Lehman Review






Dear All, 



The past 6 months and more have been quite tough for the 12 GeV Upgrade Project. Developing a new baseline while maintaining progress on the project itself was a considerable strain and the uncertainties significantly raised the pressure and the tension. 



In such circumstances, eventual success is even sweeter than usual. 



The outcome of the Lehman Review was a clear recommendation to proceed to rebaselining, along with appropriate concern that we maintain and enhance our efforts to bring in the suite of superconducting magnets. What was also very pleasing was the expression of support we received from the Office of Nuclear Physics. 



This success depended on a large fraction of the lab staff, and if we take into account the work that is going on in the halls, and in the accelerator where installation is the name of the game, the list of addressees is manifestly inadequate. Nevertheless, let me congratulate you and thank you for all you did to make this campaign as successful as it was.
