Subject: propane bottle seal caused fire
This week we had another propane bottle fire (Mapp gas this time). This
one was due to a leak in the seal between the bottle and the torch.
During his investigation Tim Minga found that the O ring down inside the
neck of the bottle was cracked. It was also noticed that the bottle was
old and there was corrosion on the neck.
Please take a look at all of your propane and mapp gas bottles and
inspect this O ring. Suspect bottles can be disposed of to Brett Lewis
at industrial Hygiene.
thanks
Ed
