<p>The Solenoid is now in the second part of the phase 1 of cooling. This is the "80K soak period". We are supplying helium cooled by LN2 only, ie, no warm helium mixed with this. Control loops have been changed as follows.<br />
PV8563W in manual mode and closed<br />
PV8563C in PID mode with flow setpoint of 5.5g/s and limit on PT8563 of 2.6 atm.<br />
It is expected that Coil 5 will reach 110 K on Monday Sept 4.<br />
On Tuesday if all is OK we will start phase 2 cooling using 4K helium directly from ESR. Planned flow rate is 2-4g/s and time for cooling is 1 to 3 days<br />
Load cells on the Z (beam direction) supports started taking load on 8/25 and all had some load by by 8/31. The load cell plot which is shown which does not have the zero load offset supressed. Maximum allowed load on Z supports is 1750lbs. We will track this through the weekend and but I suspect we will not get close to the limit during the 80K soak phase of the CD.</p>
