[Hallb-solenoid] Tested Danfysik Quench Detection Units Reset

Hi Pablo,

As the hardware quench detectors are tuned and tested in B000000401-P026 at no point in P027 do you need to clear these.

So yes you do need to have the ability to reset all interlocks tested in document B000000401-P027 from EPICs. If for some reason that was not the case you should detail which interlock check did not allow you to reset from EPICs so that the appropriate changes can be made.

Thanks,

Nick

Thank you Pablo and Tyler.

Yes - we have agreed that if we have a QD hard-wire trip - we will need to investigate and therefore it would not be correct to reset via EPICS.

We shall remove it from the checklist.

Regards

Ruben

Hello Ruben,

Yesterday; Brian, Tyler and I worked on testing the reset interlocks button (EPICS). We realized that it does not work to make the reset in REMOTE mode for the three Quench Detection Units, since this reset has to do with a setting on the control board. The control board faults configuration needs "RS & F" commands to fully clear remotely. At the moment the reset for them can be made only manually in LOCAL mode on the control board of the MPS. Brian thinks that this might be for safety reasons.

So EPICS reset for quench detection interlocks should not have been in the checklist.

Best Regards

Pablo Campero
