Hi all,
The "subway" is the first new major structure completed in Hall B as
part of the CLAS12 detector system. The "subway" is an extension of the
existing "space frame" and will mainly support the Central Detector (CD)
of CLAS12. The CD is based on a new superconducting solenoid magnet with
a 5 Tesla magnetic field and will house the tracking detectors like
silicon vertex tracker (SVT) and micromegas (MM), the central
time-of-flight (CTOF) system and the central neutron detector (CND). It
will also provide support for the new High-Threshold-Cherenkov Counter
(HTCC). Both, the solenoid and the HTCC will be moving on precision
rails mounted on the subway. The video shows the "subway" growing in
blue and yellow colors.
