Hello all,
We had a quite productive weekend. While due to beam position instabilities
and instrumentation hiccups we omitted some of the beam commissioning items
from our program, we were able to test most of our hardware and software
applications. From harp scans performed over Saturday and Sunday we can
see that the beam profile at HPS (2H02A harp) is what we need, and we have
expected profiles at 2C21 and 2C24. So, we can say that the optics is right!
we just need a stable beam and reliable instrumentation (BPMs) to continue.
Of course we have to do beam profile studies next week since many things will
change in the machine due to planned machine development activities.
For early next week machine is planning - on Monday day injector work, on
Tuesday and Wednesday day commissioning of 750MHz separation. We are planning
to have 12 GeV work in the hall during day shift. These activities and the
overhead of establishing reasonable quality beam after long down and machine
setup changes will prevent efficient work over evenings and nights. Therefore,
we will not close the hall and take beam on Monday, and Tuesday.
So, the HPS shifts from 7am on Monday till 4pm on Wednesday are canceled.
There will be email notification before noon on Wednesday for shift schedule
for the rest of the week.
Regards, Stepan
