Subject: [Hallb] [EXTERNAL] RC meeting Tuesday April 9

I will be in the conference room at 1PM and I invite all those not involved in the VIP tour to join me.

The normal Wednesday accelerator schedule is tentatively moved to Thursday (see board).

I recently posted a log as to my understanding of the current status.
============HBLOG

Production running up until Monday day shift was good with typically 6 hours of data recording.

Target was changed from LD2+Pb to LD2+C during the Monday day shift.

Beam has been down since the start of Monday April 8 day shift 8:00 AM. There was a break in a hose for the water-cooling system. The leak sprayed cabinets so that sensitive instrumentation had to be shutdown. Crews are drying all impacted boards etc. The goal is to have these units ready in a day or so. Once completely dry the boards will be tested [turned on]. The fix and return of the impacted cavities is potentially days.

To recover faster the RF crews are trying to increase gradients and explore using cavities currently "greyed out" [not powered]. The crews are strategizing the best way to boost energy with available cavities and tune beam parameters in order to restore beam earlier.

Accel crews have opted to take ½ day shift to explore options. Earliest beam is 2PM

There is a VIP tour scheduled after lunch. Radcon will survey probably around 11AM and then we can change the hall status to restricted access.

The trackers are off or in safe-mode. The rest of the HallB systems are up and running.
