Folks,

I wanted to send out an update on the plans for beam delivery to Hall B for the start of the CLAS12 RG-L/ALERT run.
At the present time the beam restoration work is in progress and things are getting very close in setting up the machine
for beam to all 4 halls. Presently the plan is for shifts in Hall B to begin starting Monday, Mar. 31 with day shift. See the
posted schedule at: https://www.jlab.org/Hall-B/shifts/
There is even a small chance that beam delivery to Hall B could start on Sunday and a standby set of shifts with volunteers
has been setup.

The plan is to take beam in Hall B at 1-pass energy (2.2 GeV) and begin with establishing the beam tune to the Faraday cup
through the long 45 cm target straw. Then commissioning of the new ALERT detector is scheduled for about a week before
the physics program begins with a pass change to 5-pass energy (10.6 GeV).

Before arriving for your shifts:
1) Make sure that all of your JLab training is up to date so that you will not have any site access issues.
2) Read the RG-L/Hall B safety paperwork (ESAD, RSAD, COO) posted on the run wikipage at:
https://wiki.jlab.org/clas12-run/index.php/Run_Group_L. When you arrive for your first shift, you are required to sign the safety
binder in the Counting House.
3) I suggest that folks review the ERG document (Emergency Response Guidelines) on the run wikipage to refresh your training.
4) Before your shift begins read the short term shift plans prepared by the Run Coordinator on the run wikipage short-term schedule
at: https://wiki.jlab.org/clas12-run/index.php/Run_Group_L#tab=Short_Term_Schedule

At this point all subsystem Group Leaders should be carrying their on-call phones at all times to respond to calls.

Let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to working with everyone over the coming months to make this a success
data collection period.

Regards,
Daniel
RG-L PDL
