SVT Meeting Minutes: Wednesday, July 22, 2009

Present: Amrit Yegneswaran, Anna Shabalina, Brain Eng, Peter Bonneau, 
Saptarshi Mandal, Werth Teachey

•	Saptarshi presented a list of mechanical drawings to be produced for 
the upcoming review.

•	Preliminary drawings for the SVT support end-plate with cable slots 
and module mounting holes was discussed.

•	Discussion on the preliminary drawings for the SVT module copper 
mounting components, heat transfer characteristics, and their attachment 
to the end plate.

•	Discussion on the ~ 4mm x 20 mm slot (on one side only) in the SVT 
module for the wing cable. It was mentioned that this width reduction in 
the module may be continued to the end plate to reduce the mounting 
hole, etc.

•	Much discussion on cooling including the need for cooling, type of 
cooling, etc. ~ 28 degrees C is discussed for the temp operating point 
for the system.

•	There will be temperature monitoring on each hybrid for local 
monitoring of heat. Overheating will trigger a power-shutdown via the 
slow-controls system.

•	In regards to simulation, Anna needed detailed dimensional and 
material information on SVT components to continue the work at W&M. 
Saptarshi and Amrit explained the current design.

•	Discussion on the current status of the SVT sensor procurement and the 
writing of the MOU for MSU.
