Dear collaborators,
there is a reasonable chance that beam will be sent to Hall A by the end
of this week. Shifts have been cancelled up to Thursday day shift (not
including it), but after that time we might be game! I am writing to let
you know that there are plenty of open positions in our shift schedule.
Please consider signing up. Read the message below to see how.
*Peanut alert*
One of our collaborator has a fairly serious allergy to nuts. The
easiest policy to follow to make the Counting House a hospitable
environment for this individual would be to simply refrain from bringing
nuts and foods that contain nuts to the Counting House for the duration
the DVCS/GMP run. Please keep this mind as you think about snacks for
shift workers or as you prepare your own lunch/dinner etc. when coming
on shift.
Thanks for your help with the data taking.
See you in the counting house.

Dear collaborators,
you are invited to take part to the Fall 2014 Hall A. We will run both
the DVCS experiment (E12-06-114) and GMP experiment (E12-07-108)
concurrently.
The Shift schedule is available under:
https://misportal.jlab.org/mis/physics/shiftSchedule/?experimentRunId=HALLA-FALL2014
To sign up, connect to:
https://misportal.jlab.org/mis/apps/physics/shiftSchedule/index.cfm?experimentRunId=HALLA-FALL2014
The commissioning of CEBAF is the main goal of this Fall run period.
Beam will be delivered to Hall A for physics on the best effort basis.
This means that beam delivery to Hall A might be intermittent especially
at the beginning of the run period. Please consider this when signing up
for shift. If you sign up for shift and your shift is cancelled, you
will receive credit (in that case, if at all possible, consider signing
up for more shifts). We intend to cover the October shifts with
collaborators based at JLab on short notification.
Both of these experiments will run about 8 weeks during the fall of 2014
and then again for a duration of about 11 weeks between February and
July 2015. We request that collaborators who plan to take authorship
serve a minimum of 10 shifts preferably split about equally between the
Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 periods. Shift credit will count toward
authorship for both experiments. Note that to recognize the great work
of OWL shift workers, their shifts will be weighted by 1.5 in the final
shift tally. That is one taking only OWL shift needs only 7 shifts
(instead of 10) to be eligible to authorship.
Thank you for helping us take great data this Fall.
