Subject: [Fpi-2] [EXTERNAL] High -t pi+ electroproduction paper published
Dear Fpi-2 Collaborator:
The "high -t" paper is now available online at the Phys.Rev.C website,
download instructions at the bottom of this message.
At this point, I would also like to thank everyone for the remarkable
productivity of the Fpi-2 experiment, with 9 papers published so far, including
3 Physical Review Letters. [Please let me know if I've missed anything.]
Back in 2006, we published the Fpi-2 pion form factor results in
1) T. Horn et al. "Determination of the Pion Charge Form Factor at Q^2=1.60 and
2.45 (GeV/c)^2"
https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__journals.aps.org_prl_abstract_10.1103_PhysRevLett.97.192001&d=DwICaQ&c=CJqEzB1piLOyyvZjb8YUQw&r=UmowQw_-nybySgIsd-GulA&m=agKqRCVK-4mr9m8Wv_MQcTzJLl5bp2qLJ5RwCkJiRGY&s=hDWIISP2w-d0Kee6TvY45Ewqqj_kvzRhge6MkuKRHMU&e=
This is our experiment's most highly cited paper, with 243 citations so
far (according to inSPIRE).
In 2008, we published two major archival papers titled "Charged pion form
factor between Q^2=0.60 and 2.45 GeV^2",
2) the first giving the details on the L/T-separated cross sections,
H.P. Blok et al. "I. Measurements of the cross section for the ^1H(e,e'pi+)n
reaction"
https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__journals.aps.org_prc_abstract_10.1103_PhysRevC.78.045202&d=DwICaQ&c=CJqEzB1piLOyyvZjb8YUQw&r=UmowQw_-nybySgIsd-GulA&m=agKqRCVK-4mr9m8Wv_MQcTzJLl5bp2qLJ5RwCkJiRGY&s=X11yVjD3I32rHpQ2h2FRIs2WCJjpNtrCWPykTXkspe4&e=
3) and the second giving the details of the pion form factor extraction,
G.M. Huber et al., "II. Determination of, and results for, the pion form
factor"
https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__journals.aps.org_prc_abstract_10.1103_PhysRevC.78.045202&d=DwICaQ&c=CJqEzB1piLOyyvZjb8YUQw&r=UmowQw_-nybySgIsd-GulA&m=agKqRCVK-4mr9m8Wv_MQcTzJLl5bp2qLJ5RwCkJiRGY&s=X11yVjD3I32rHpQ2h2FRIs2WCJjpNtrCWPykTXkspe4&e=
The Fpi-2 pi+ cross section results, combined with those from the PionCT
experiment, enabled a scaling study,
4) T. Horn et al., "Scaling study of the pion electroproduction cross sections"
https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__journals.aps.org_prc_abstract_10.1103_PhysRevC.78.058201&d=DwICaQ&c=CJqEzB1piLOyyvZjb8YUQw&r=UmowQw_-nybySgIsd-GulA&m=agKqRCVK-4mr9m8Wv_MQcTzJLl5bp2qLJ5RwCkJiRGY&s=CSLSJIAj_Lt7ZVjVm_gWfg1A4awo8E1zqiGLSda3wkA&e=
In 2014-15, we published two papers on the L/T-separated pi-/pi+ ratios from
the LD_2 target data,
5) G.M. Huber et al., "Separated Response Function Ratios in Exclusive, Forward
pi+/- Electroproduction"
https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__journals.aps.org_prl_abstract_10.1103_PhysRevLett.112.182501&d=DwICaQ&c=CJqEzB1piLOyyvZjb8YUQw&r=UmowQw_-nybySgIsd-GulA&m=agKqRCVK-4mr9m8Wv_MQcTzJLl5bp2qLJ5RwCkJiRGY&s=qL8jOMcYzOl5wu5DNKEoD0-zqCds7hjv2iTB_sVIE2Q&e=
6) G.M. Huber et al., "Separated response functions in exclusive, forward
pi+/- electroproduction on deuterium"
https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__journals.aps.org_prc_abstract_10.1103_PhysRevC.91.015202&d=DwICaQ&c=CJqEzB1piLOyyvZjb8YUQw&r=UmowQw_-nybySgIsd-GulA&m=agKqRCVK-4mr9m8Wv_MQcTzJLl5bp2qLJ5RwCkJiRGY&s=x4nmcOlNQB4iyK1958IopKebO9jfELl5hXOTb4LSkbE&e=
In 2018, K+ results from the Fpi-2 and PionCT experiments were published,
7) M. Carmignotto et al., "Separated kaon electroproduction cross section and
the kaon form factor from 6 GeV JLab data"
https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__journals.aps.org_prc_abstract_10.1103_PhysRevC.97.025204&d=DwICaQ&c=CJqEzB1piLOyyvZjb8YUQw&r=UmowQw_-nybySgIsd-GulA&m=agKqRCVK-4mr9m8Wv_MQcTzJLl5bp2qLJ5RwCkJiRGY&s=I0_OkwmHld1vQFiheEj9w-p-yKhnKGt4oPJu18qmv6A&e=
And in 2019, the Fpi-2 real e'+p coincidence data opened up a new way to probe
u-channel reactions,
8) W.B. Li et al., "Unique Access to u-Channel Physics: Exclusive
Backward-Angle Omega Meson Electroproduction"
https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__journals.aps.org_prl_abstract_10.1103_PhysRevLett.123.182501&d=DwICaQ&c=CJqEzB1piLOyyvZjb8YUQw&r=UmowQw_-nybySgIsd-GulA&m=agKqRCVK-4mr9m8Wv_MQcTzJLl5bp2qLJ5RwCkJiRGY&s=TpQjg3zDDN1lvvUMC3fx8L1uO7yJ2VDMkndBXUv-DgQ&e=
And finally, the high -t results,
9) S. Basnet et al., "Exclusive pi+ electroproduction off the proton from low
to high -t"
https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__journals.aps.org_prc_abstract_10.1103_PhysRevC.100.065204&d=DwICaQ&c=CJqEzB1piLOyyvZjb8YUQw&r=UmowQw_-nybySgIsd-GulA&m=agKqRCVK-4mr9m8Wv_MQcTzJLl5bp2qLJ5RwCkJiRGY&s=A-b0-rpqSL4Ye5dyG4wN0tz87rGcJTpOOlOko2YHS0Q&e=
Bill plans to publish a longer Phys.Rev.C on the omega analysis, so hopefully
we are not yet done.
The next phase of pion form factor data taking is expected to start in
mid-2021, and we look forward to your continued collaboration then. Please
keep us in mind, as we will definitely need your help to make our next
experiment as successful as Fpi-2 has been.
Regards, Garth
