Dear Collaborator:

We are writing to give another update on the Pion-LT experiment (E12-19-006)
"Study of the L-T separated cross section at 11 GeV and measurement of the
charged pion form factor to high Q^2", and seek your continued support in
helping to fill shifts to run the experiment. This is an important experiment
that has motivated the 5.50 degree capability of the SHMS, and has been
identified by NSAC as one of the flagships of the JLab 12-GeV program.

The data taking so far has gone very well, and we encourage you to view the
webpage of our data taking progress, including plots from the initial physics
replays of all data acquired to date, at:
https://hallcweb.jlab.org/wiki/index.php/PionLT_2021_Physics_Status

Due to delays in beam delivery in August, the "fall 2021-22 run" has been
extended for another ~3 weeks of beam after the holiday break. The latest
schedule has 7937 MeV beam being delivered on swing shift this coming Tuesday,
January 11, with the run continuing through early February. Not all of our
"core group" of shift workers are available to be at JLab for shift work, so we
VERY BADLY NEED YOUR HELP!

The shift schedule can be found here:
https://misportal.jlab.org/mis/apps/physics/shiftSchedule/index.cfm?experimentRunId=HALLC-PIONLT

If the past experience of our Fpi-2 experiment is any guide, this experiment
will produce many high impact papers. The shift requirement for co-authorship
is 15. The final part of this experiment, the "fall 2022" run, scheduled for
Oct 1-Dec 3, 2022. While our preference is for co-authors to take 10 shifts in
the current "fall 2021-22" run, followed by another 5 shifts in the "fall 2022"
run, we understand this is not always possible. If you prefer to take all of
your shifts in either of the "fall 2021-22" or "fall 2022" periods, please let
us know, so we can include this in our experiment planning.

Please sign up for shifts if you are able, as we really need your help!

Thanks and Regards,
Garth, Tanja and Dave
