Hi all,
JLab's IT group will be doing some maintenance on the Hall C /work
filesystem on Tuesday, Jan 25. (Moving directories to newer, faster,
better hardware.)
The final sync and cut-over should be relatively short, but you should
expect some access interruption to files under /work/hallc/... at some
point during the day on Tuesday. It would be best to pause any jobs
that would write to /work on Monday night and resume them Tuesday
evening.
This should *not* change your workflow or how you access files under
/work/hallc/... *However*, you need to be accessing the files
through the stable '/work/hallc/...' path, and not using the host/mount
dependent path that starts with '/w'. For example:
  CORRECT (stable path):
    /work/hallc/nps/...
INCORRECT (changes depending on low-level mounting details):
    /w/hallc-scifs17exp/nps/...
(FWIW, the same rule also holds for /group, /volatile/hallc/, etc.)
Drop me a line if you have questions/concerns.
