Last night, we tried Jay's new optics #8 configuration (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3532062) to reduce the spot size on 3H07A and 3H07B (before our target) down to 300 micron. After the 5 pass separator recovery, beam was restored around 9:30 pm, and we started the optics test. The spot size on 3H07 we got x 3-4 times larger than y (~800 micron for x and ~200 for y) with new optics. See the latest harp scan results from last night (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3532153, https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3532152). We went back to optics we had before the test, and beam was re-established in HallC later around 11:20 pm. We took data with 15 uA over night with some BLM and halo monitor trips.

There were indications the orbit coupling could be originated from 3S corner steering in Dec. 2 (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3532150), and the MCC will work on restoring the accelerator to revert the corner steering. Beam will be taken away from the halls 9AM this morning and the optics recovery will take about 4h. We plan to take access during this downtime; Dave Meekins will fill up gas for getting D2 target ready for F2 program. This will take 0.5 - 1h. If anyone else needs an access, please let me know asap.

We will meet in 200C at 1:30 pm (second floor of the counting house).
