Dear collaborators,

We will begin "practical training" sessions for new target operators, or target operators that have not yet been (re-)trained in the 12 GeV era, starting this Friday at 2:30 PM in the Hall C counting room. The target is cold now (just loop1, with GHe) but it's nice to train ahead of the start of physics beam to lessen the chaos in the counting room. Target training requirements are described on the "Cryogenic Target <https://userweb.jlab.org/~smithg/target/Qweak/>" link on the main Hall C web page <https://www.jlab.org/physics/hall-c>. Links to the training slides <https://www.jlab.org/div_dept/train/Hall_A-C_Tgt/Hall_A-C_Tgt_2018%20(Published)/index.html>, training test <https://misportal.jlab.org/mis/apps/testing/testinfo.cfm?test_id=9>, etc. are there also. If you need to get your practical training, please contact Silviu, JP, or myself to schedule an appointment by emailing us: smithg at jlab.org, covrig at jlab.org, jpchen at jlab.org. We'd be happy if we can get some more people trained this Friday...

A brief summary of the bremsstrahlung radiator procedures, which is needed for the first experiment scheduled (the pentaquark search), is also posted on the target web page, or linked directly here <https://userweb.jlab.org/~smithg/target/Qweak/Radiator.pdf>. Target operators (new or old) need to familiarize themselves with these simple but new procedures ahead of the experiment.

Thanks,

Greg
