[Hallc_running] [New Logentry] RC Update (12/07/2022)

Good Morning, 

                    Today is an RF recovery day so Hall C is currently in Controlled access. There will be some general work going on in the hall (checking the turbo pumps, etc...).


Yesterday during the DAY shift, the Q1 magnet power supply interlocked and could not be reset. This was similar to the issue on Monday OWL. Ellen replaced a signal conditioner and we continued yesterday without any further problems (thank Ellen!).

There were RF and other issues during much of DAY yesterday (so no beam during much of DAY shift).

During SWING shift, Setting 3.3.10 was completed. The remaining plan was to take ~3 additional hours of Helium-3 and ~3 additional hours of Helium-4
SHMS: 8 degrees @ -9.20 GeV
HMS: 20 degrees @ -5.878 GeV

This was to be followed a beam density study @ SHMS: 20 degrees (-4.4 GeV) and HMS: 20 degrees (-4.4 GeV).

Cameron found that the pressure in Loop 1 had changed recently: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4097562 

Dave Meekins stopped by the counting house and went into the hall for a quick escorted access. He was unable to determine the cause so came back this morning and is currently in the hall. In order to understand the issue, he is warming up Loop 1 (He3). Loop 2 (He4) will stay cold. Stay tuned for an update.
