*** IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SHIFT TAKERS:

Make sure your trainings including the RWP are up to date and successfully updated on the system. Please take some time to make sure your badge is active and allows you to pass the security.

JLab requires wearing masks in public areas due to COVID-19 Community Level increases in the area. Please remember to wear a mask in the counting house.

Monday, Jan 16th Day Shift:

- Mostly no beam due to injector transmission optimization, Hall D beam stopper limit switch, 1L25, and steering out XSEP4T loss issues.

Monday, Jan 16th Swing Shift:

- Beam is restored early swing shift.

- Finished the first round of 3He and made progress on the second round of 12C running with the high Q2 (and high x) HMS s!
etting (HMS momentum -4.08 GeV and angle 35 deg). SHMS kinematics are -9.2 GeV and 10 deg.

- Towards the end of swing shift the Hall C beam current was dropped to 40 uA while Hall A requested their current to be increase from 15 uA to 30 uA.

Tuesday, Jan 17th Owl Shift:

- Completed the second round of 12C running on the same kinematics and moved to the second round of 3He data taking. At the end of the owl shift, we were half way through the target number of electrons with the 3He target.

- It turns out that Hall A mostly ran with 40 uA throughout the night while Hall C current was lowered to 40 uA and for the last 2 hours of the owl shift we ran with 35 uA. This doesn't seem to be equitable sharing of the current between Hall A and C given the max scheduled current for Hall A is 45 uA and for Hall C is 60 uA. This was brought up during the PD meeting today. If high current to both halls isn't still atainable after MCC c!
ompletes their tests , hopefully there will be a better balanc!
e on sharing the current between Hall A and C such as the same % of the scheduled beam currents for each hall.

Tuesday, Jan 17th Day Shift:

-Around 9 am - beam is taken away to perform some studies/tests to improve on beam trips and inability to provide high current to Hall A and C simultenously https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4111393.

- 10:30 am - still no beam. MCC starts doing some RF stress tests with high current. Target was moved from 3He to 12C for this.

- 12:30 - Crew chief calls to notify that they want to send 70 uA on carbon target for the RF high power delivery tests. Current beam authorization has been updated to accomodate this https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4111547

- 14:30 - RF high power delivery test is complete. The shift crew switched back to 3He target and resumed data taking at 40 uA (max allowed current of He targets currently).

PLAN:

- After co!
mpleting 3He running, we will start the second round of data taking on dummy and 4He targets at these SHMS/HMS settings before moving to a lower HMS momentum setting. The plan is to keep the SHMS kinematics the same.

My apologies for the late RC update!

-Burcu
