Dear Colleagues,

Last night we experienced and increase in temperature on the LN2 vessel of SHMS Q1, followed by deteriorating vacuum pressure. Decisions were made to go in in the morning to hook up a pump.
Around 11 pm, the magnet started alarming on low LHe level; so, we took away beam and started ramping down the magnet. Engineering on call eventually ramped down all magnets.

By this morning, temperature and vacuum had slightly improved. Shortly before 8 am, there was a significant improvement in vacuum. By the time techs went in the hall the vaccuum had improved to the point that pumping was not necessary anymore.

Currently, the hall is still open. MCC has RF work to do; projected time is 2 - 4 hours starting 10 am. Hall C techs are pumping on a transferline.

Once we get beam back, the plan is for hopefully smooth data taking through the weekend. We are taking data on the largest missing momentum setting, far out in the tail of the deuteron momentum distribution. Data is coming is sloooooow, at roughly 6 to 10 good counts in a two hour run.
