Hello everyone,

After all of the work in the Hall yesterday, we're back up and running, albeit with a few problems.

Work in the Hall was completed around 17:00, thank you for everyone involved in the long list of tasks yesterday and all of the hard work that went into it!

Beam came back around 18:30, but we then hit a snag. The SHMS was rotating and the door "opened" causing a PSS trip. At the same time, the injector had issues, it took ~3 hours to recover and get ready for beam delivery.

By the time the beam was almost available again, around the end of swing shift, we were having some DAQ issues, Chandan and Bob resolved these though (see the linked entry and followup )

Once this was resolved, we were getting into the start of Owl shift. By this point, the NPS temperatures were fairly stable. We decided to skip the tests for the next kinematic and move back to production of KinC_x50_4 (with the SHMS at a slightly different angle), let's call it KinC_x50_4'.

At this point though, we had a few more issues. The earlier slow magnet GUI came back to haunt us. The GUI was basically non-responsive, we got in touch with Ellen who resolved the issue somewhat.

To make the slow GUI even more fun, we had an HMS dipole interlock, luckily it cleared without assistance, but took ~30-45 minutes to recover.

By about 02:15 we were ready to go again, but MCC wanted to re-verify the NPS sweeper dipole settings, this took till about 03:00

OK, finally the good news! Since then, we've been running relatively smoothly. We're taking production data on KinC_x50_4' and have nearly finished our first LD2 cycle

The only minor concerns are that VME2/3 seemed to stop working at first, luckily the shift crew caught this and in restarting the run, they came back.

The shift crew caught this because they noticed the rates were lower than they should be, please keep a careful eye on the rates and compare them to expectations!

Peter conducted a nice study of how the resolution has been degrading over time. Worth discussing at our RC meeting.

Speaking of, we'll have our RC meeting at the usual time/place - 11:00 in the counting house second floor or on zoom - https://jlab-org.zoomgov.com/j/1617015555?pwd=L09IQ216dml6ZmM5ODExVjFsMXdsUT09#success

I'll populate the meeting page with further info shortly.

Other than that, current plan is just to keep chipping away at the current setting.

See you all in the meeting!
