RC Report 11 April 2025

During Day shift today, we did GEM checkout at 5pass on LD2. The rates seen by the GEM were lower than at 3rd pass beam at the same beam current. This is expected due to increased shielding installed on Tuesday and a more forward boost of particles.
Furthermore, we spent some time to center the beam better after Dave reverted back BPM offsets to the values for 3rd pass (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4352862). There will be an entry to the hall today to check the position of harp at IHA3H07B.

During Swing and Owl we took production data with GEMs at 0.3uA beam current. Throughout the Owl shift there were issues with GEM stability which leads to data taking without GEMs for about half of Owl shift (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4353385). Furthermore adjustments to two LAD PMts were made which showed too high and too low rates compared to their neighbours. At the end of Owl shift was an HMS Q3 interlock which was able to be cleared and Q3 is back up (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4353489)

Today is RF recovery and work on 5th pass vertical separator to allow for 5pass beam into HallB and C tonight. Beam is expected sometime during Swing. We will first check beam position on C-hole and then continuing production at 0.3 uA. During Day access will be made to look for the harp and the LAD reference bar (there was a problem with the cabling after it was moved on Tuesday).
