[Hallc_running] [New Logentry] RC daily update -- 08/05/25

Yesterday Hall B pass change took 3 hours. During the down time, the HMS dipole remotely ramping up issue is fixed (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4434639). The time zone in the detectors' HV crates are changed and the crates are power cycled, so all HVs are archived in the MyaPlot (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4434592).

Beam was resumed in the hall at 11 am. The data taking had been smooth until 5:40 pm. Then the SHMS Q3 interlocked (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4434928) showing left current lead flow too low. The engineers took an escorted access to evaluate the situation and found the SHMS left lead controller failed and tripped the magnet. A full survey was requested. After replacing the failed parts and restore the flow, we are able to ramp up the SHMS Q3 to the set current. The data taking was resumed at 11 pm. We have been running smoothly since then. The positron pion- would be complete in an hour. We will move to the second cycle of positron pion+ low z runs, which would take about 11 hours (including target change time) to complete. 

Tomorrow would be the maintenance day. Hall will be in controlled access. Let the RC know if you need to work in the hall. If you need a walkthrough, please contact RC or Sam Hahn(hahn at jlab.org).

Thursday day shift is scheduled for Hall A beam study (going through compton chicane). Other halls would receive mostly tune beam and some CW beam.
