Relatively smooth running at z=0.67 in day, swing and owl shifts. At around 4:30am the Hall B solenoid tripped off, dumping gas into the vents causing all the HMS magnets and SHMS Q2 to trip, (see log entries https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4423122, https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4423147). Please make clear in log entries that you ramped the magnets to MOL before lowering to the set currents. Recovery by the shift crew was fast and we only lost about 40 minutes!
We continue to have some inefficiency in changing triggers due to hanging of the prescale GUI. Please follow the procedure of killing and restarting the GUI after ending a run with one trigger and starting a new run with a different trigger. You should be able to either change the prescale factor and see the new rate or set a target rate and see the prescale factor without having to start a "test" run. Always check that ptrig1 (SHMS 3/4) is less than 900kHz; we are allowing S1X to go up to 1.8 or 1.9 MHz as along as tracking efficiencies etc don't suffer too much. If you have a question about this, please call the RC.
We also have had issues with losing one or more of the TV screens we use for status plots and scalers; if anyone knows the recovery procedure, please post or let me know, and I'll post the instructions.
There will be an RC meeting today at 2:30 pm in the meeting room on the 2nd floor of the Counting House. The usual Zoom information is below:
