Monday's data taking continued on the z=0.67 pi- SIDIS point at x=0.25, Q2=3.3. There were considerable difficulties with the accelerator and we lost almost a shift. At some point in the swing shift the alarm handler crashed or was killed and no shift check list was performed so it wasn't noticed until a little after the start of owl shift. The alarm handler is critical to letting us know when we have equipment failure, please check periodically that it is running and working!

When started after midnight, we got an alarm due to high rates in the ptrigs; everything else seemed normal, so the running continued with limits set to silence the alarm. In the morning, we set more appropriate limits.

MCC performed a beam energy measurement this morning, followed by a harp scan. At this point it was discovered that one of the harps is apparently broken. The one that still works was in approximate agreement with the scan performed at the start last week. We are now finishing up the z=0.67 kinematic and should start z=0.5 later today.

Wednesday 7/23 is a beam studies day; the hall will go to controlled access to allow Ellen to work on the NMR and a safety walkthrough to be conducted. If you need access to the hall during the day, please contact the RC!
