"We are on a Mission from God"
- Jake and Elwood Blues
Yesterday was maintenance day, so beam was take down from 6:45 and tune beam was sent around 23:45. Hall was set in controlled access, and tech team accessed to repair HMS Q2. As it starting to be a tradition, Hall jumped to lockdown, apparently due to our favorite door #2. Thus we moved to Restricted Access. There was a walk through for future shift takers. Around 15:00, hall was swept and changed to Controlled access, beam permit and controlled access again for a final repair to HMS Dipole NMR.
At end of Day shift, SL found the Magnets GUI not communicating, and Ellen rebooted the computer remotely. The IOC heartbeat was still off, but the SL reset it and back to normal. Well, except the HMS Dipole NMR which is not OFF, but is not communicating. The rest of the magnets system are online.
Owl shift proceed with the beam checkout, MCC moved the beam 1mm, but Carbon Hole scan looks perfect. We enjoyed beam for ~2h and at the time of this post, we are receiving tune beam.
SHIFT SUMMARIES:
DAY -> https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4395442
SWING -> https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4395747
OWL -> https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4395911
RUN PLAN:
- beam checkout (again... )
- Ellen will access the Hall, escorted access, to try to repair the HMS NMR power supply (IF that's the problem)
- production
NOTES FOR SHIFT TAKERS:
- in the folder Run Plan and Notes, shift takers must take a look to the run plan and specific instructions for the LAD experiment (GEMs and LAD), which are extra to the regular instructions, written in the wiki, for the Hall.
- It could be nice, for every beam checkout, to have a dedicated logentry, with the links to the harp scans and a screenshot of the carbon hole plot from the reply. The most information in the logentry, better.
- Since the HMS Dipole NMR will be repaired, I think it is important to remember these notes from Dave G. about it -> https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4379045
- in the Counting House, we have regular mugs for the coffee. It is responsibility of the coffee/tea drinker to clean the mug for future users. This RC has provided with sponge and dishwasher for that purpose.
NOTES FOR THE PIs:
- the snack table is a picture of desolation, and today's DAY SL bought coffee. It is appreciated some contribution to the shifter sugar levels.

We will have our regular RC meeting in person, at CH conference room at 2:30

Fun Fact of the Day (sometimes recipe of the day):
(this is by petition) a less know sister of Seafood paella, is the Fideua, where the rice is exchanged by small thin pasta, vermicelli style. Unlike paella, which the real one is farm-style, the fideua is a seafood dish.
