The Hall C target has been cooled down with He and seems stable. I would like to organize a cryoytarget practical training session tomorrow, Fri, Mar 21, from 2-4pm in the Hall C Counting House.

To get fully trained as a target operator for the cryotarget in Halls A and C, you will need to:
 a) Go through the online training slides (PH019a). Take the short test (PH019T) based on those training slides to indicate you understood the material. Once you pass, an automated notice will be sent to a target expert letting them know that you can proceed to the next step.
 b) Sign up for practical training (in the counting room or remotely) with one of the 3 target experts (Silviu, Chandan or JP Chen) on a cold target (PH019b). Takes about 1.5-2 h.
 c) Shadow any trained TO for a few hours while they are on shift in the counting room to familiarize yourself with your actual shift duties.
 d) Email the target expert with whom you had the practical training when you've completed c), and let them know who you shadowed. At that point your name will be added to the list of trained TOs and you can take cryotarget TO shifts in either Hall A or C.

For people who would like to take step b) in the training list, they must have passed step a) beforehand. This session (step b) in the training) is geared towards people who have never been trained before and have signed up for TO shifts during the first 1-2 weeks of running. If you cannot attend this session, please schedule a practical training session at least two days before your first TO shift. To schedule a practical cryotarget training session, please contact myself, JP or Chandan.

Please send me an email if you plan to attend the session tomorrow so I can keep track of the potential number of attendees and make sure that we will not overflow the CH,

Kind Regards,

Silviu
