Hall C has been taking data quite efficiently for the past day. We've recorded 15.8 hours of ABU. Beam was taken away for ca. 6 hours yesterday for MCC to investigate the issue with the horizontal RF separator that had plagued us over the weekend. No clear conclusion was reached, and they will continue to use magnetic separation for now. See https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4373934
Our GEM latency scans were not fully conclusive. See https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4373839, https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4373867, https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4373983.
We are still working through the "optics runs" in the run plan. At least two more shifts will be needed to get the required statistics.
Since 10am today, MCC has been running another set of horizontal RF separator tests, which is expected to take several hours. We just got the hall swept and will go to Controlled Access to let the tech team work on the HMS Q2 power supply that is still down due to an interlock problem.
Tomorrow, the accelerator will be down starting at 7am for the maintenance work on the Arc A magnet (a prerequisite for beam delivery to Hall D). This will likely take most of the day. We are planning to take Hall C to Controlled Access to switch to the hydrogen target, remove the scintillator bars near the GEMs, troubleshoot some LAD PMTs, and do more HMS Q2 troubleshooting if needed. If anyone would like to do additional work, please let me know in advance.
We will have a RC meeting today at 2:30pm on the second floor of the counting house and on Zoom. See https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4346862.
