A little more info on the Git stuff on Tuesday:
Jeff has been one of the top 10 (5?) developers of the Git version
control system for many years. A few years ago he was hired by GitHub
to work on Git full-time.
The focus of the talk will be about Git, how it differs from centralized
systems like CVS/SVN, and how to take advantage of Git's many unique
features. (I'm sure he'd be happy to talk about GitHub if someone asks,
but that won't be part of the presentation.)
I'll work on getting EVO up and running too. Instructions will go out
when I've got them.
Jeff will also be around in the afternoon to meet one-on-one with some
of our developers and interested staff to answer any questions we might
want to throw at him. These meetings will be fairly informal and will
be in F113 at 1:30pm.
