The latest updates to the hodoscope and scintillatorplane classes
made by Gabi to have the focal plane and start time calculated
as in the engine were included into HCANA on Feb 19th. So the
temporary hack of fixing the start time to 32 has been removed.
I have looked at the code and made per event comparisons between
ENGINE and HCANA. I updated the mkj branch of the ENGINE so that
the ntuple has the HMS focal plane times and the start time.
I also eliminated the temporary hack of fixing the start time to 32.
I modified the calculate of the array h_rfptime ( the focal plane time
for each plane) to match HCANA. Previously in ENGINE
while the calculation of the start time used all good focal plane
times ( including focal plane times for multiple paddles in one plane)
the array h_rfptime was filled with the last paddles focal plane time for
the plane. As far as I can tell the h_rfptime is only used for histogramming.
I found a small bug in the focal plane time calculation in HCANA
which did not effect the calculation of the start time.

After the change to HCANA and ENGINE, the comparison between the
focal plane times and start times on a per event basis agree to 1x10-5 level.

With the scintillator changes, I updated the drift chamber comparison
and the DC focal plane positions and angles agree to the 1x10-4 level
between ENGINE and HCANA. See plots at
https://hallcweb.jlab.org/wiki/index.php/Analyzer/Comparisons#Compare_HCANA_to_ENGINE_for_HMS_drift_chambers
It would be good to have comparisons for other runs. It is fairly
simple to analyze any of the Jan05 runs and compare between the
two codes.
Cheers,
Mark
