[Halld-cal] Cal Working Group Meeting next week?

Hi Matt:
I agree. I read your e-mails on the matter and I also worry about it. When the first idea to sum up three arrays to increase the dynamic range was floated, I remember a discussion on what the effect would be on the noise level and the thresholds it would imply. However, at that time we didn't know what dark rates we would finally get from the production devices, or even if we would go with SiPM arrays, so that specific issue laid dormant. I am glad you brought it up again because I am also concerned of the effect.
George

I sent this around in a email last week. In order for us to proceed further on the simulation to investigate this issue we need an update or check of the assumptions that go into the threshold calculation. Please give my email a read an also maybe review the referenced document. Then we should arrange a discussion for how to proceed, but this is best done when we everyone is able to participate.

Although I plan to participate in the meeting and report as necessary, I don't think I'll have the time to organize. If Matt is also busy and if there's not much urgency to report, as Zisis suggests, I say perhaps we should cancel it.

If there are urgent items that come up they can be brought through via email. Since Andrei reported on the cosmics yesterday in the Readout meeting, and since the construction is going routine, there should be little to report.
