Hi Elton:

Yes, I believe we had a good meeting. One suggestion I have regarding the monitoring system, or to be more precise its flashing sequence, is to restrict flashing only one side of each row of ten at any given time. What I mean by that is flash a set of ten for one end only not the other. When the next row of ten flashes, or some other later time, flash the other side. This way, if we keep the fiber method of illuminating both ends as we seem to pursue, we will get a more accurate (sensitive) feedback because the non-flashed end will only see the light from the other (far) end that will not be masked or mixed and overwhelmed by its own LED flashing. Thus we will be more sensitive to smaller variations of amplitude. Since we plan to flash only two rows at each end at a time, such sequence does not add any complexity to the logic.

Just a thought,

George

Dear collaborators,

Thank you so much for your input this morning. I think we have made
progress and simplified the conceptual design for the Bcal monitoring
system. I have posted minutes on the wiki at
http://www.jlab.org/Hall-D/software/wiki/index.php/Mar_24%2C_2011_Calibration/Monitoring

Feedback and corrections are welcome.

Thanks, Elton.
