[Halld-cal] [EXTERNAL] Re: CPP/NPP BCAL calibration status

 Hello Igal and Zisis,

have a question: what is actually a requirement for BCAL
showers to be associated with the certain layer: >50% of energy deposition in it,
or something more complicated?

 Thank you.

Hi Igal:

there is not much more that we can offer, except what was suggested by Sean and which Karthik reminded me of: we could try to place cuts on how we choose charged tracks. This was also tried during PrimEx but it still did not allow Layer 3 to come under acceptable control. Have you tried this?

Thanks and cheers, Zisis...

Hello, Sean,

So far I only looked at the individual gg invariant mass for each cell and regroup it per layers in the python script mentioned above. If you look at this script, you can see that for the 3rd layer, there are two groups with one very low statistics and another with low statistics wrt other layers.

BCAL experts,

Are there any diagnostics histograms that we can look for? Also, is there a table or code that gives the COG of each cell?

tks ig.

Hi Igal,

Thanks for the update. Do you have any diagnostics for the separate
layers, so we can see the status of e.g. in layer 3?

We may want to think about looking at expanded track/shower matching
criteria for this analysis, or see what the effect of possible
improvements in tracking or other BCAL calibrations are.

And between iteration 5 to 11, the behavior starts to converge but not as well as when a pi0 signal is seen in L3. I will try to use for all L3 cells, the average gain instead of the default value for iteration 12 and above. Let me know if you have a better idea.
