<pre>Hello.
I just checked in a change to
/src/programs/Simulation/HDGeant/hitBCal.cc (revision 18639). There was
a problem with one of the changes I made to the bcal truth cell method
that should be working normally again now. The problem can be seen in
the attachment 'codeproblem.pdf,' which shows a drastic reduction of
counts above energy thresholds in diphoton mass histograms.
The attachement 'BCAL_inv_mass.pdf' shows the progress so far in
comparing the new and old code (with the new fix implemented). The fits
are a Gaussian (par[0] - par[2]) plus a fifth-degree polynomial (par[3]
- par[8]). The number of pi0s in the peak (estimated by sqrt(2 pi) *
par[0] * par[2] * #bins/GeV) is given at the bottom of the stats box for
each fit.
The peak is sitting on about 0.1 GeV, and we aren't sure why, exactly.
It's in the same place using the old code and the new code. Is this
normal for a bggen sample? The plots are built using the following
plugin:
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://halldsvn.jlab.org/repos/trunk/online/packages/monitoring/src/plugins/BCAL_inv_mass">https://halldsvn.jlab.org/repos/trunk/online/packages/monitoring/src/plugins/BCAL_inv_mass</a>
