Hi,
Last week we enabled ChannelAccess security for Hall D EPICS IOC-s
(with exception
for solenoid IOC) . This limits the write-access to Hall D EPICS
variables based on
(hostname, username) combinations. There is a group of hostnames and a
group of usernames
that can modify (the operators) Hall D EPICS variables. One would have
to be running CSS from one
of those hostname as one of those usernames to be able to change EPICS
variables (turn
things on, change setpoints, backup/restore voltages etc).
If you see that you are unable to click the button on the EPICS GUIs
that you were previously
able to click, or the GUI won't let you change the number, then you most
likely are running CSS
with (hostname, username) that is not in the operator lists.
The current operator hostname list is :
gluon01,gluon02,gluon03,gluon04,gluon05,gluon28,gluon31
The current list of operator usernames is:
hdops,hovanes,pentchev,zihlmann,dalton,pmatt,manlara,nerses,kakoyan
All of us can use "hdops" account to modify EPICS variables, so in
principle
only "hdops" account would suffice. But some collaborators wanted to
have CSS Workspace
on their own Linux accounts. For these people to be able to continue to
use their CSS workspace
on their own Linux account, we have to add their username to the
operator username list.
So if you want to use own Linux account to run CSS, let me know, and I
will add your username to the list.
Best,
Hovanes.
