Regarding the Hall B ambient pressure PV: B_SYS_WEATHER_SF_L3_Press

It's currently using a MKS Baratron 1000 torr with 0.5% accuracy (~0.7 kPa) [ ~$1.5k]
Additional sensors from Dwyer have been ordered that are 30 psia with 1% accuracy (~2 kPa) [~$160] to add more pressure locations around the Hall.

That signal is going to a cRIO module that has a 24-bit ADC in high-speed mode 2ms conversion with 80 uV RMS and ~0.5% error.

The cRIO is sampling the sensor at 50 ms and averaging 20 samples to update to EPICS.



For Hall D: There's nothing close to that for the CompactLogix series of PLC modules, the IF8 linked in the agenda is as good as it gets which has a 16-bit ADC (effectively 14bits) and there's no way to disable the filter (only change the rate). End result is around a 1mV/count resolution.

The only thing better for A-B PLCs are some of the high resolution ControlLogix series modules. They have 24-bit ADCs. The Solenoid uses this series of PLC, but the analog input modules it currently uses are just the "regular" 16-bit ADC versions. So it would require getting a new module (1756-IF8I $3619.18) as well as integrating it into the Solenoid PLC system.

As an alternative could assemble something with a microcontroller or Raspberry Pi and a separate ADC module or even just a barometric sensor (can get ones with +/- 3 Pascal accuracy). This would be on the order of a few hundred dollars, depending on number of units.
