We will get space in EEL 126 to test the wire chambers (conf. by
W. Akers and J. Segal). We <br>
already tested the FDC and CDC in that location. I asked for
room for the second half of <br>
this year. There is a small DAQ system in EEL 118 (electronics
lab) that can easily be moved,<br>
(conf. with S. Somov) Minimum requirement is two f125ADCs and
external trigger input.<br>
<br>
We will need to prepare a TOSP for this project using probably
Task List (need to be on jlab network for access).<br>
In addition to the DAQ we will need a gas supply as well as HV
and LV supplies. I think this will be also the time<br>
and location to finalize the design and installation of the air
cooling system for the chambers. In addition we<br>
will also use two scintillator panels to set up a cosmic ray
trigger (4 additional HV channels plus signal handling).<br>
<br>
There are three main goals for this cosmic test (operating gas
Ar/CO2 [90%/10%] at 300 sccm gas flow):<br>
1) HV scan, to trace out the plateau curve<br>
2) characterize the timing response as a function of HV.<br>
