Private:Hall D Staff Meeting, March 28, 2011

    Present: Fernando Barbosa, Eugene Chudakov (chair), Hovanes Egiyan,

    Sascha Somov, Simon Taylor, Tim Whitlatch, Elliott Wolin, Beni Zihlmann

Eugene

      * There has been a recent up-tick in injuries at the Lab
           + Many have involved power tools
           + Please exercise caution when using them.
           + Use only those tools whose safe operation is familiar to you.
      * Safety walk-throughs of offices and work areas around the Lab will
        be conducted.
           + Some of our work rooms and test areas will likely need a once
             over before this happens.


Mark

      * Upgrade of web server last Tuesday went relatively smoothly.
           + Some glitches did occur; they are being worked through.


Elliott

      * Online
           + meeting Wed
           + P3E task descriptions, spreadsheet and Mantis accounting
           + no CAN needed for Athens calib system
           + large CAN system needs to be controlled for FDAL, under
             discussion
           + contacted students concerning working again on Java event
             display
           + meeting coming up to spec out and purchase counting house UPS
           + Chris wants to meet concerning hall networking
           + getting about 2 dozen 30" racks from CC, need about 6
             immediately, storing remainder
           + about half done updating DANAEVIO for DANA changes, needed for
             event display
           + work done for Online needs to be discussed in Online mtg, need
             coherent effort
      * Coil testing
           + coil 3 is installed in yoke
           + hi-pot testing under way, so far 350 V, goal is 500 V, short
             hasn't gone away yet
           + Cody may be able to help diagnose why slow dump doesn't seem
             to work
           + coil 3 subcoils unbalanced, Fernando pondering what to do
             about quench detector
           + discussing whether to add fault diagnosis system to control
             system
           + getting some more PLC licenses and hardware for coil test and
             controls test stand
           + replacing NI fast DAQ with VME-based fast DAQ, commissioning
             in F117 then move to Test Lab
           + coil 2 He vessel being leak checked
