Announcements, Eugene

      * Rolf Ent sent out a memo concerning staff doing teaching outside
        the Lab.
           + approval from supervisor and AD required
           + "Request to Engage in Outside Business Activity" form needed
      * Work on the ETC has started
           + future commitments and wish list together come to 2.4 M$
           + we are nominally allowed 1.2 M$

FDC, Lubomir

      * at Blue Crab, a pressure protection sensor failed
           + pump stopped Saturday night
           + pressure in chamber very high, taken up by end membrane
           + Vladimir was there to manage situation
      * got a new bottle of gas, had been delivered elsewhere at the Lab
      * understanding wire resolution
           + right now factor of two worse than in prototype
           + resolution from strips looks good
      * Casey strung one more wire frame, production continues
      * corrosion test: opened box
           + first Viton sample failed, but cause was solder separated from
             trace, no damage to copper, false alarm

BCAL, Elton

      * another shipment of 280 SiPMs delivered
      * box of 400 light guides arrived from Santa Maria
      * all parts ordered for electronics
           + procurement for board assembly ready to go
      * mechanical construction
           + everything in procurement
           + exception: some parts that will arrive quickly

Beamline, Sascha

      * submitted contract with CUA to procurement
      * finalizing design of fixed array with Dan sober
           + trajectories sent to Dan
           + updated Tosca map
           + Dan comparing with his uniform field study
           + final number of counters: 230
           + need to decide on PMTs
           + questions on how to deploy amplifiers
      * sharing of responsibility needs to be worked out with UConn
        vis-a-vis mounting of SiPMs
      * pair spectrometer: getting parts
           + tiles should be here middle of November
           + first-article SiPMs soon as well

FIU Contract, Mark

      * PR submission waiting on signatures on the SOW, everything else is
        ready
      * need a plan for logistics of readiness review for such a small
        contract (25 k$)

Counting House, Hovanes

      * switch, fiber optics, about to be to be installed[?]
      * UPS turned on
      * have not received official go-ahead for energizing from Paul Powers
      * starting procurement with Computer Center for raid disk, file
        server, computing nodes for next 6-9 months

Software Review Follow-Up, David

      * Curtis Meyer has a [22]written document that he will present at
        today's meeting with Rolf.

Raw Data Format, Elliott

      * Dave Abbott re-making his library, speed optimization
      * anomalies seen in the data
      * factor of four from raw to compressed
      * zipping the files: goes to 60% of original size
