We will probably need to pay attention to this when running SeeVough in
the conference room.

Java Update and Configuration Change

To work around the current security flaw in Java 7, the CNI group will
push out a new update (Java 1.7 update 11) to all Computer
Center-managed Windows users who have installed Java 7 on their desktop.
With this update, we will also modify the configuration of Java via the
Java Control Panel to turn off all browser access to Java 7. Staff and
users who need to run Java from their browser can turn this back on, but
should turn it back off as soon as they can for continued protection
from the current security flaw and others, as the new update does not
adequately address the current Java security issue. The CNI group is
working on a web page with instructions for turning Java back on via the
Java Control Panel, which will be available no later than tomorrow
morning, Jan. 16: https://cc.jlab.org/java7enable
