* recordable event in Hall D this past week
* employee transferred from Engineering had work restrictions, not
conveyed in writing to supervisor
* when shown the work, employee said they could work on it
* did the work for two days, following week had cast on hand, injury
potentially related to work
* if you have a restriction, that needs to be told to supervisor or
sponsor
* if you are a supervisor of someone with restrictions, you assign
appropriate work
* lessons learned will come out upon investigation
* restrictions are on file at medical services, supervisors have
access to that information, this category exempted from privacy
rules
Announcements, Eugene
* salary letters supposed to be finished by March 13
* March 19, meeting on MOUs and foreign visitors with Bob McKeown,
Rolf Ent, others
* no info on sequestration measures as of yet
* LDRD program: 16 letters of intent, will have 29 proposals
Engineering, Tim
* solenoid
+ refrigerator issue addressed two weeks ago, but problems when
cooling
+ found contamination
+ cleaned out, will try again tomorrow morning
+ contamination in cryosystem, not even connected to magnet yet
+ will cool magnet itself in about a week, it will take a week
to cool
+ several problems with power supply, Dave, Scot, and Mark
working on it, Accelerator people helping with trouble
shooting, problem has been narrowed down
+ hopefully fixed by time of solenoid cooldown
+ power supply was stored for a while in Hall A, radiation
concern
+ will not go past 127 amps
* tagger vacuum chamber has arrived
+ Survey and Alignment in this week to see that features on
vacuum box and magnet align properly
+ stands are in for the tagger, survey will look at those as
well
+ might start stacking steel by Mon.
* BCAL rails (to slide BCAL in), installed and shimmed
* upstream platform being taken apart to accomodate BCAL stacking
* power transformers spec'ed, PR by tomorrow, to bring 480 V from
wall down to 208 and 110 V
+ facilities will install them
+ breaker panels a bit behind, PR by end of week
+ UPS power a separate item
Counting House, Hovanes
* computer from computer center installed to test software for level
3
+ Dave L. and Elliott working on that
* checking infiniband for EMUs
+ Dave A. working on that
+ Dave A, only brought in one mini-crate
* cable trays on top of racks installed
* configuration for console in counting room finalized
+ Facilities placing order for consoles, furniture, changes to
infrastructure (power, communications)
+ PR submitted for these items
+ will be installed in about 6 weeks, chairs will come in last
* Eugene: if groups want to check detectors in the Hall: see the
schedule for when things happen
+ individuals should check their respective schedules: things
put in by hand, items could have gotten lost or changed
inadvertently
Calorimetry, Elton
BCAL
* 20 modules done now (40% of total)
* getting things ready to start stacking modules in Hall
* last shipment of SiPMs arrived at Santa Maria last week
* Shane Krueger from Regina will be back next Wed. to help with
testing
* will have to organize gluing and the scheduling of workers
* going relatively well
* we thought there was problem with glue, really with non-uniform
curing
+ changed procedure for moving UV light across surfaces
+ new procedure working
+ batches were OK
FCAL
* monitoring LEDs for FCAL decided: 1 violet, 1 blue, 2 green
+ Athens can proceed with that
+ modifying contract to extend end date
+ will be done in next 2 months or so
* FCAL stacking is going well
+ getting to point where man-lift needed, need to train John L.
to operate one
FDC, Lubomir
* another package moved to JLab Fri., took package that was tested
back to Blue Crab
* will put on mounting table at Blue Crab, will open from back side
* when tested package at Blue Crab, hooked up nitrogen, one cell
leaking
+ was gauge tube that measures pressure, got disconnected in
transit
+ reconnected, no more leak
* shelving disassembled at Blue Crab, a lot of items parked near the
door
+ be careful entering and leaving
Goniometer, Hovanes
* goniometer arrived
* Yi and Hovanes have seen it
* should be mounted to start working on it
* guaranteed for a year, must do acceptance testing next
