Furletov, Mark Ito, David Lawrence, Lubomir Pentchev, Yi Qiang, Sergey
Pozdniakov, Sascha Somov, Simon Taylor, Tim Whitlatch
Eugene
* If you want access to any of the buildings at the Lab during the
shutdown, please contact Eugene and have him put your name on the list.
* Congress has approved a budget, president's budget plus 1 M$
o the Fall run will be for accelerator
o before 12 GeV, must install cooling in tunnel, dogleg upgrades
o Spring run for us will be two months or less
David
* event size for mode-8 4 to 4.5 times greater than for mode-7, mode-7
4 times greater than original estimate
* EPICS to ET not working
* want to put F1 TDC configuration parameters in data stream
Sergey F.
* looking for bottleneck in read-out rate
* within crate, mode-7 or 8, no difference in rate
* live-time low, 70% live
* multi-block not tried
* event size: calorimeter noise, FDC big contributors
Alexandre
* need to buy radiation monitors before the next run
Sergey P.
* assembling new trigger test set-up
* 1 crate so far
* will re-activate F117 set-up
Sascha
* playing with different trigger types
* calorimeter in coincidence with start counter
* with coincidence FCAL rate down by 10
* able to lower threshold on FCAL from 1500 to 1200
* tuning delays on GTP
* trigger identity recorded by TS
* took some data with ST, TOF, FCAL coincidence with different TOF
requirements
* took ST and TOF trigger for calibrating minimum ionizing peak
* last Sat., hodoscope gains adjusted with pair spectrometer trigger
* TDC hits seen in pair spectrometer, hodoscope, and microscope
* PS trigger can be added now
Tim
* tomorrow shielding changes, VESDA work
* Jan. Feb. work list being worked up, basic list in place
* helium will stay in magnet
* beamline drawings are out
* FDC chiller: want to ship our for repair
Mark I.
* starting to generate simulated data for data challenge 3
* software review in Feb: Hall D will focus on topics related to
offline handling of data taken this run
Simon
* TDCs, ADCs: studying timing consistency
* issues with TOF matching to charged tracks
* measured TOF speed-of-light about 14 to 16 cm/ns
* matching charged tracks to start counter has inefficiencies
* matching start counter times with tagger a challenge at present
Lubomir
* Luke Robinson has been awarded a DOE Fellowship. He will start here
in March, will be here for a year
* FDC reconstruction has good starting time now, from start counter
* plotting drift times
* recover same resolution as in EEL cosmic data
Yi
* will be leaving JLab for an opportunity near Chicago, starts end of
January...sad news for Hall D
* solenoid in stable state with connectors re-seated and ice ball gone
* Rodrigo Mendez will test MCPMTs from Argonne; there has been
progress in their fabrication
Mark D.
* BCAL reconstruction work: low-level objects first calibration
* analyzing recent tests
* working on overall calibration scheme
