[Halld-jlab] Cabling Issues

Hi all,

Some network and trigger cabling in the hall has been installed and used 
on a temporary basis without much regard to routing or labeling, which 
is understandable. Such phase of activities will end within the next two 
weeks. So, on February 1st, we will start removing any cables that are 
not properly labeled; routing will be properly done so expect 
interruptions. As you know, labeling is geographical (refer to 
GlueX-doc-1452). The attached photos illustrate some of the concerns:

photo1: no labels
photo2: no labels; network cables (dark blue) should come from the left 
side vertical cable manager, not the bottom (horizontal cable manager); 
trigger fiber (light blue) needs to be routed via horizontal and 
vertical cable managers (use the opening on the right, adjacent, on 
vertical cable manager).
photo3: trigger fibers, again the same issue as above, no labels.
photo4: these unconnected cables (come from ROC, see photo2), located 
inside one of the vertical cable managers, present a potential safety 
issue and the black wire tie is the icing on the cake.

If you have any questions, please ask. We will help with labeling, 
routing if you prefer - just provide a list of labels.
