    General Issues, Eugene

  * HADRON conference coming in September
      o call for Hall D tour guides had good response, we are covered
      o call for students to help with conference: no responses
  * tomorrow tour for visiting CIOs from other labs, David will conduct it
  * last PRs for fiscal year done, a few left
      o computing
      o electronics, another VXS crate


    Run Preparations


      Engineering, Tim

  * magnet cool down complete by end of week
      o at 80 K now
      o adding more voltage signals, acoustic monitors
      o Jonathan: testing will take two weeks, may be less
      o replacing level sensor
  * FDC spare package ready to move back to Hall
  * survey and alignment
      o will do collimator cave next
      o tagger and Hall already done
  * target will be back in by end of week
  * will re-do survey high-granularity PS counters
      o Sasha: before box installed, low-granularity too?
  * beamline needs to go back together
      o will add two flashes for TPol


      Electronics, Fernando

  * clock jitter measurements
      o will get help from Ben Raydo and his precise scope
      o modules installed, not cabled
      o see jitter of 100-150 ps
  * updated firmware for this run: F250, Trigger Supervisor, F1TDC, F125
      o Ed working on F1TDC problem
      o F125: one crate under test, Cody, Naomi, Beni look at it


      Beamline, Alexandre

  * Hardware change for BPM not needed: Todd had not turned off quad
    before tagger in his study
  * fast feedback: no news
  * want to have Rapid Access for Hall D
      o need to buy hardware (CARMs), expensive items
      o PSS state: Hall and Tagger Hall the same, might be an issue
      o not for next run
  * status of new microscope fibers unknown
      o Eugene: can microscope be used for coherent peak?
      o Hovanes: scalers showed stable rates recently
  * coherent peak without Ken Livingston
      o Hovanes and Paul can handle it as long and software works
      o Ken could work on software remotely in emergency


      Detectors


        Drift Chambers, Lubomir

  * need to get mass flow controllers back from repair
  * chiller ready to switch out for repaired unit
      o tests completed on repaired unit
  * mysterious offset in FDC, Fall data vs. Spring data
      o 100 to 300 micron shift seen
      o could be beam energy, or trigger, or something else


        Calorimeters, Elton

  * FCAL: John turned on, some trouble channels
      o want to look at shifts with LED magnet on vs. off
  * BCAL: turned on, taking data
      o one LED broken
      o looking at calibration of layer 4 with muon decays
          + 50 MeV endpoint
          + data posing some questions
      o cooling working well
          + fixed sensor upstream


      Online


        DAQ, Trigger, Sascha

  * Eugene: want to run 200 nA, 10^-4 radiator, 20 kHz event rate, "low
    intensity" conditions. Can we?
      o F125: an open question
      o F250: 80 kHz OK
  * plan to debug trigger with playback
      o hardware performance not understood
  * Eugene: what trigger was responsible for trigger signals
      o Justin: FCAL-BCAL with energy balance
  * need to add debugging features
  * David: TDC readout of trigger done?
      o Fernando will check
  * David: change to firmware for TS from William Gu needed
  * Eugene: can we have a pulser trigger?
      o will think about it


        More DAQ, Sergey

  * if F1TDC, F125 OK, can go to 20 or 30 kHz
      o means 500 MB/s extrapolating from last time
      o that may introduce dead-time
      o David: dropping headers could reduce data to 40% of former size
          + Bryan Moffit has a secondary read-out list to do this
  * David: would like to test event tagging


        Slow Controls, Hovanes

  * beam profiler: will sample faster
      o Nerses developed driver, application work next
      o need fitting procedure
  * Paul working on scalar read-out
      o ST, hodoscope, microscope done
      o GUI left to do
  * FCAL voltage control
      o firmware upgraded
      o may reduce noise, false readings from basses
  * FCAL LED pulser application changed completely
      o Sascha: PS hodoscope needs pulser, can it piggyback on
        calorimeter system?
          + should get a separate 1495 instead
  * CAEN HV for FDC, CDC
      o sudden disconnect of voltage board with no alarm fixed
      o now get EPICS-induced shutdown with the new driver occasionally


        Online, David

  * add to read-out list: UNIX timestamp, TS info
  * Sascha: synch events coming
  * RedHat 7 upgrade
      o EMU, farm, raid, console machines
      o leave controls systems alone
  * cyber security: CC wants to scan more machines
      o possible plan: scan everything at certain times
      o Eugene: during run, no scans
  * emulation code for Flash ADCs
      o calling a meeting


      Data Analysis, Justin

  * at Physics meeting, assignments of people to channels done
      o a lot of interest shown
      o benchmarks for amount of data needed to be developed
  * Simon: reconstruction in pretty good shape
  * BCAL timing still missing
  * Paul: need quick turn-around for calibrations
  * Simon: need to solve "wire sagging" problem in CDC
      o has idea for way forward
      o working with Mike Staib
      o need to characterize as function of z
      o fear: different correction for each straw
  * Sergey: sees fragmentation of FCAL showers
      o Elton: Will McGinley introducing single-ended hits
      o Simon: timing consistency recently added as requirement


      Other Topics

  * Eugene: need to plan special running, e. g., special purpose
    calibration running
  * Sasha: can we add nuclear target
      o mentioned in response to LOI
  * Eugene: need to assign new run coordinator
      o volunteers solicited
