    Announcements, Eugene

  * All-Hands meeting was held last week.
  * LDRD presentation:
      o 2 types:
         1. accelerator projects on electron cooling
         2. EIC physics from Christian Weiss, Sergey and Eugene working
            on charm production
  * long-range plan meeting, Thu and Fri.
      o Don Geeseman will present plan
  * vacation donation program ran (briefly)
  * physics discussion on Test Lab space, no big Hall D items (DIRC will
    go directly to Hall)


    Solenoid, Tim

  * all 4 chimneys open
  * plumbing/thermal-siphon evaluated
  * planned mods fit into the space
  * bench welds 3/8th done
  * all but one piece of tubing fit checked
  * tack welding to be done
  * coils look good
      o MLI beat up for one coil
      o coil 4: some water seen, no unusual
      o ice balls a fear, no evidence so far
  * start cooldown Dec. 1; schedule holding
  * work to do, 6 weeks
      o welding
      o leak checking
      o MLI: wrapping it back up
      o thermal shields


    Run Preparations, Alexandre

  * meeting started, two so far
      o A., Curtis, Elton, Eugene
  * Readiness meetings, start after collab. meeting, weekly
  * need all equipment to work for this run
      o except solenoid and cryotarget
  * hot check out to start 10 days before start of run
  * schedule
      o machine starts Nov. 9
      o no beam for Hall D until after Thanksgiving
      o uncertainties: may get beam earlier, not at all
      o hoping for 2 weeks
  * run conditions:
      o no cryotarget, 100 micron foil, plastic target
      o 5 mm collimator
  * major task: fast feedback commissioning
      o hardware and software should be ready this time
      o need high current
      o will start with beam to tagger dump, no radiator
      o active collimator role tested later


    DIRC Review, Justin

  * sent out TDR 2 seeks ago
  * submitted to committee now, they will have 2 weeks
  * budget and schedule converging with Rolf and Patrizia
  * program management plan close to done
  * Wed. morning: dry runs, all welcome
  * review next week
  * new collaborators from GSI, some have been helping with DIRC planning


    General Run Preparation

  * no new equipment
  * FCAL, Elton: bases being worked on
  * Chambers, Lubomir: can be turned on for short periods if needed
  * Calorimeters: ready to go otherwise
      o EPICS should be re-enabled on FCAL for continuous monitoring
        capability
  * nitrogen for BCAL still going to solenoid
      o needed there for another 2 weeks
  * magnet cool down takes 3 weeks
  * trigger, Sascha: no worries
  * DAQ, Sergey: testing F125s
      o single crate at 70 kHz
      o all crates at 35 kHz with 50% livetime
  * Online, David: no big changes to online computers


    RF, Paul

  * MO split to 4 crates: tagger, tof, fdc, ps
  * all signals look good but...
      o FDC ROC shows spikes and smearing, will replace F1TDC
  * jitter seen between crates
      o TOF and Tagger OK
      o PS and other 2: too much jitter, about 100 ps, should be 50-80 ps


    New Post-Doc, Eugene

  * applications in, 18 of them
  * to work on DIRC, data analysis
