    Hall D Staff Meeting, March 19, 2018

Present: Thomas Britton, Eugene Chudakov (chair), Mark Dalton, Hovanes 
Egiyan, Sergey Furletov, Mark Ito, David Lawrence, Lubomir Pentchev, 
Elton Smith, Sascha Somov, Simon Taylor, Tim Whitlatch, Beni Zihlmann

  * Announcements, Eugene
      o Budget
          + see All-Staff memo from Stuart on the JLab Voluntary
            Separation Program
          + President's budget: 19 weeks of running, no capital
            equipment purchases[?]
      o Running: April 16th deadline, run will end then
      o Visitors/students: need letter from university foreign students'
        office for extended stay at JLab
  * Summer Plans
      o DIRC
          + will install 2 bar boxes and 1 optical box
          + 2 bar boxes will be stored
          + if optical box arrives by end of June, it can be installed
            by September
          + readout is by SSPs
          + one crate of HV needed
      o CompCal
          + Sascha requests a box near platform for staging
      o CDC or FDC removal
          + there are 2×24 dead channels in the FDC
          + there is a gas leak in the CDC
      o Tim made list of 30 or 40 items and reviewed them with his crew
      o David will rquire some manpower for removing cables and
        computers in the counting house
  * Spares
      o Let Eugene know before May if any are needed
      o No plans for CPU upgrade in counting house
      o test are underway for an all-ethernet network for the DAQ
  * TRD
      o problem with double tracks
      o FADC 125 upgrade, short mode tested
  * Open House is on May 19
